Chililabombwe Mayor Mr Lucky Sichone has today on 30th July 2024 thanked Konkola Copper Mine PLC (KCM) for fulfilling their promise by clearing outstanding arears it owed the Local authority.
The Mayor disclosed that the Council is elated and the funds received will be directed towards paying retirees their terminal benefits as well as completion of capital projects.
Mr Lucky Sichone further thanked the area Member of Parliament who is also the Minister of Mines Hon. Paul C.C Kabuswe for ensuring that Councils receive their payments
And Chililabombwe Town Clerk Mrs Shilla Songolo has stated that as management it is a delight to receive these funds which will tackle some of the many needs of the Local Authority.
“We count it a priviledge and joy to be counted as first Councils to receive this payment from KCM and we shall prioritize retirees and some supliers ,” she added.
