WE’RE MONITORING THE ENTIRE EDUCATION VALUE SYSTEM – SYAKALIMA .

Education Minister, Hon. Douglas Syakalima says his Ministry has a huge task of monitoring the quality of education from early childhood to University.

The Minister has however said although the task is huge, the desire by President Hakainde Hichilema to have one Ministry be in charge of both General and Higher Education is bearing fruit.

Hon. Syakalima was speaking in Lusaka on Wednesday 20th December when he officiated at the breakfast meeting for the Private Universities forum.

He said his Ministry is able to effectively monitor the quality in the education system from an early age up to University level.

“I have been accused of paying attention to early childhood education at the expense of higher Education but what people don’t know is that we are taking a holistic approach by ensuring that Universities have a well-shaped student who has received quality education from early childhood.”

He added that his Ministry is rectifying a wrong where in the past Universities where accused of channeling out half-baked graduates because children went to Universities half-baked due to being given 100 percent progression as opposed to progressing on merit.
