Government has allocated 1.3 million Kwacha for immediate disaster relief in Kanchibiya District, to address the impact of widespread destruction. This financial support is aimed at providing essential supplies and restoring hope to over 3,000 individuals left homeless due to the destruction of more than 400 houses.
The funds, released through the Provincial Administration to the District Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) will expedite relief operations, focusing on urgent needs such as shelter, food, boats and medical assistance.
As the aid truck, mentioned earlier, is expected to arrive in Kanchibiya this afternoon, the injection of 1.3 million Kwacha will fortify the ongoing efforts, providing a more comprehensive response to the crisis.
