He assured them that in case of emergencies such as disease outbreaks or floods, the government would provide support and assistance, including the possibility of evacuating them to safe locations.
He urged the residents not to resist such interventions but to cooperate with the authorities for their own well-being.
Taking advantage of the meeting, Council Secretary Beston Kajoba sensitized the residents about the various programs available through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
He explained that the New Dawn Government was sponsoring vulnerable children through secondary and skills development bursaries, which were funded by the CDF.
He encouraged the residents to send their eligible children to school as the access to education has been made easy by the New Dawn Government when they introduced CDF Bursaries.
He further said grants and loans were also available for start-up capital for businesses.
Mr. Kajoba further emphasized that there was life beyond the fishing camp and that the children could have a bright future by taking advantage of the secondary and skills development bursaries.
He urged the residents to consider the options available to them and to work towards a better future for themselves and their families.
The visit by the District Commissioner and the Council Secretary to Namalio fishing camp demonstrated their commitment to ensuring the well-being of the residents.
