Minister Mutati affirms Government’s dedication to nurturing and supporting young entrepreneurs.

Zambia’s Minister of Technology and Science Hon. Felix Mutati has affirmed Government’s dedication to nurturing and supporting young entrepreneurs.

Speaking on the side-lines of the Timbuktoo Retreat Strategy which is being held at Vergenoegd Low Estate Cape town, South Africa, Hon. Mutati emphasized the pivotal role of young entrepreneurs in Zambia’s economic progress.

He says this is why the Government has continued to provide resources, offer training and infrastructure to empower the youth and foster their potential.

Hon. Mutati highlighted that with ample land available, young Zambians can engage in business, boosting their income and expanding entrepreneurial horizons.

He emphasized the Timbuktoo initiative’s goal of transforming innovative ideas into successful enterprises, thereby catalyzing job creation and economic growth.

The Minister called for collaboration among governments, investors, universities, and the private sector to create an enabling environment for startups.

Leveraging support from the UNDP, Zambia plans to establish a cutting-edge Mine Technology hub, demonstrating its commitment to fostering innovation.

Meanwhile Dr. Joy Kategekwa, AD Interim Lead Timbuktoo/Regional Strategy Advisor to the UNDP Africa Regional Director, expressed excitement at Zambia’s participation in the Timbuktoo Strategy Retreat, emphasizing its role as a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration among young leaders.
