Mines and Minerals Development Minister Paul Kabuswe has assured employees at Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) about the future of the mine saying he is optimistic of massive copper production once it is recapitalized and will contribute to the 3 million metric tonnes.
Speaking when he gave an update on the liquidation process to Senior KCM management, Unions and a cross section of employees for Konkola and Nchanga, Mr Kabuswe said there were multiple reasons for employees to feel positive about the future of the mine because the asset is in good hands and they are the ones who contribute to high production targets.
Mr Kabuswe who is also Chililabombwe Member of Parliament commended employees across KCM units for their patience and commitment during the liquidation process.
