Mambwe Town Council Public Relations Officer Grace Lungu says the grading and graveling of Roads under the Constituency Development Funds (CDF) in Mambwe District is progressing well.
In a statement this morning, Ms. Lungu said the project which commenced on 1st November 2023 is being implemented under Force account basis using the 2023 Constituency Development Fund CDF at a Total cost of K1.5 Million.
Ms. Lungu explained that this in simple terms means the Local Authority procures the materials and engage skilled Labor Force to carry out the works.
She disclosed that so far, the spot graveling the 10 Kilometers of Kawaza via Nsefu road, 15 Killometers of the Chikowa road, 2.5 Killometers of the old Mambwe research road as well as the 1.5 Killometers of the Chibebe road have already been worked on and completed accordingly.
Ms. Lungu noted that the scope of works includes, Clearing and grubbing, Skimming, Grading, Road Alignment and formation.
She further stated that the project scope also involves Spot graveling Compaction and Construction of Mitre drains.
“Works are ongoing and expected to be conducted in all the 15 wards of Malambo constituency,Mambwe District. Ms. Lungu stated.
