April 24,2024-The Zambia Police Service wishes to issue a clarification regarding the recent reports circulating in the media concerning an alleged incident involving the death of a mental patient by a trainee nurse at Levy Mwanawasa Hospital.
Upon thorough investigation and follow-up by the Zambia Police Service, it has been established that no such incident occurred at Levy Mwanawasa Hospital. There is no evidence to support the claim that a mental patient was killed by a trainee nurse.
We understand the importance of accurate reporting and the need to address public concerns promptly. Therefore, we urge the public and media outlets to verify information before disseminating it to avoid causing unnecessary panic and misinformation.
The Zambia Police Service remains committed to upholding law and order and ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens. We encourage members of the public to report any suspicious or criminal activities to the nearest police station for appropriate action.
