KULIMA-TOWER BUS DRIVERS ASSOCIATION CELEBRATES PRESIDENT HAKAINDE HICHILEMA’S THREE YEARS IN OFFICE WITH FARE REDUCTIONS.

Lusaka – The Kulima-Tower Bus Drivers Association, led by their Chairman, Mr. Nicolas Banda (AKA FaZa), is marking three years of President Hakainde Hichilema’s leadership with a significant gesture to the public.

The association is celebrating the President’s three-year milestone in power by reducing bus fares for all 13 routes operating from Kulima-Tower Bus Station for one day on 20th August 2024.

The fare reductions come as a show of appreciation for the President’s efforts in ensuring that bus drivers can operate freely and without interference from political cadres at the station. This improvement in their working environment has been pivotal for the drivers, allowing them to conduct their business without fear or favoritism.

On the day of the celebration, bus fares for most routes will be K10 across the board. However, some routes will see even greater reductions. The fare for the Kafue-Chilanga route, typically K45, will be slashed to K20, while the Shantumbwe Road fare will drop from K40 to K25. Additionally, the Konga-Makeni route will see fares reduced from K25 to K15.

Chairman Nicolas Banda expressed the association’s gratitude for the positive changes that have come under President Hichilema’s administration.

“We are proud to operate in an environment where we are free from harassment and can serve our passengers with fairness and dignity. This fare reduction is our way of celebrating these three years of good leadership and giving back to our loyal passengers,” said Mr. Banda.

And a veteran driver John Daka is pleased with management and president Hakainde Hichilema’s leadership for restoring sanity and order in bus stations.

Meanwhile, Moses chola chama a driver also expressed gratitude to the new dawn government leadership and has encouraged members of the public to take advantage of the bus fare cut down and board kulima tower buses next week Tuesday.

The association invites the public to take advantage of these reduced fares as they join in celebrating the achievements of President Hichilema and his commitment to improving the lives of ordinary Zambian.
