Government to Boost Construction of Concrete Roads

The Zambian government has unveiled plans to accelerate the construction of reinforced concrete roads on heavily trafficked routes across the country.

Infrastructure, Housing, and Urban Development Minister Charles Milupi announced that the government will intensify its policy of building concrete roads, starting with Kitwe’s Chibuluma Road

Mr. Milupi made this announcement during the Joint Ministerial Committee Meeting on the Kazungula Bridge Authority in Ndola.

He emphasized that this initiative will boost business for local cement producers.

The announcement followed a joint motorized tour by Minister Milupi and his counterpart, Botswana’s Minister of Transport and Public Works Eric Molale, of the Dangote Cement Zambia Limited plant in Masaiti district on the Copperbelt.

Mr. Molale described the tour of one of Africa’s largest cement producers as an eye-opening experience, highlighting the plant’s advanced automated operational systems.
