ZAMMSA DISTRIBUTES CT SCAN AND X-RAY MACHINES WORTH K45 MILLION.

Lusaka, Wednesday 20th December 2023.

The Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) has distributed, recently procured, CT scans and X-ray machines with a total value of K45 million across public health facilities in the country.

In a statement today, ZAMMSA Senior Public relations Manager Bradley Chingobe said the Computed Tomography Scanner, also known as CT Scan, worth K13 million, has been delivered and installed at Kabwe General hospital in Central province.

He said this CT Scan will play an instrumental role in the provision of detailed medical information to diagnose, plan treatment and evaluate numerous conditions that affect our general public.

Mr. Chingobe stated that ZAMMSA has also distributed and installed 16 X-ray machines worth K32 Million in health facilities in Muchinga, Copperbelt, Eastern, Northern, Central, Lusaka, Luapula and Southern provinces.

He further said the health facilities that have benefitted from this X-ray distribution are Chilonga Mission Hospital, Arthur Davidson Childrens Hospital, Luangwa District Hospital, Muyombe District Hospital, Chilubi Main Hospital, St Francis Mission Hospital, Chavuma District Hospital, Mumbwa Hospital, Kitwe Teaching Hospital, Ndola Teaching Hospital, Kasama General Hospital, Kabwe Central Hospital, UTH, Mansa General Hospital and Choma General Hospital.

Mr. Chingobe added that the procurement and subsequent distribution of this equipment is aligned to our vision as ZAMMSA to be a world class supply chain of essential medicines and medical supplies for a healthy and productive nation.

He said ZAMMSA will continue to prioritize the procurement of medicines and medical equipment to improve service delivery in all public health facilities across the country.
