BEIJING-WEDNESDAY, 31ST JANUARY, 2024.
Zambia’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, Dr. Ivan Zyuulu Presented his letters of credence to President Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Zambia to the People’s Republic of China. This ceremony was held on Tuesday 30th January, 2024 at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Ambassador Zyuulu was among 42 Ambassadors that presented their letters of credence to President Xi Jinping.
After the ceremony, President Xi Jinping delivered a speech in which he asked the envoy to deliver the New Year’s blessings and good wishes to President Hakainde Hichilema and the People of Zambia. He pointed out that China cherishes the friendship with the people of Zambia. This was confirmed by the elevation of the friendship from the traditional one to that of a Comprehensive, strategic and cooperative one. President Xi further stated China’s commitment to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation with the people of Zambia on the basis of equality and mutual benefit. And promote the continuous development of bilateral relations.
President Xi hoped Dr. Zyuulu would have a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of China and build a bridge of cooperation and communication for bilateral relations.
President Xi stressed that 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and that China was promoting the construction of a strong country and national rejuvenation in an all-round way with the Chinese –style modernization. This means a broader market and unprecedented development opportunities for the world.
Mr. Xi pointed out that today’s world is not peaceful. As always, China takes the future of Mankind as the mind and the well-being of the people, strives to contribute Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions to the cause of human peace and development, and advocates an equal and orderly world.
On 15th August 2023, Dr. Zyuulu presented copies of his letters of Credence to the Director General of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hong Lei in Beijing.
