Lusaka, Wednesday 13th March 2024 –
The Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) has distributed over 5,000 Health Center Kits, in just two weeks, from the recently received 7050 kits to various health facilities across the country.
In a statement today, ZAMMSA Senior Public relations Manager Bradley Chingobe said this consignment is the third shipment from Missionpharma of India. In total, this makes it 21,150 kits that ZAMMSA has received from the total of 42,000 expected from Missionpharma.
Mr. Chingobe said ZAMMSA is therefore currently sitting at 78% of the distribution schedule and is expected to completely conclude with the distribution of the health center kits to facilities in all provinces by the 15th of March 2024.
He said the Agency has successfully completed the distribution of the Kits to facilities in the following provinces: Southern Province, Copperbelt Province, Eastern Province, Luapula Province, Muchinga Province, Western Province and Northwestern Province.
The ZAMMSA Senior Public relations Manager stated that the Health Center Kits are instrumental in expanding access to basic health care services at primary health care level in both urban and rural areas with adequate essential medicines and other supplies.
He said ZAMMSA remains committed to ensuring that Zambia continues to experience an uninterrupted supply of medicines and medical supplies at all levels.
And Mr. Chingobe noted that the timely supply of the Kits is taking a step towards achieving our goal of being a world class supply chain of essential medicines and medical supplies for a healthy and productive Zambia.
