WE HAVE HIGH NUMBER OF C-SECTION DELIVERIES IN IKELENGE BECAUSE THE WOMAN ARE TOO SHORT -Dr. MALAMBO

Kalene Mission Hospital in Ikelenge District of North-Western Province records a striking and alarmingly high caesarean childbirth deliveries.

Mission Hospital Medical Officer In-Charge Dr. Hakumbila Malambo revealed that the health facility records nearly 250 caesarean section births, representing 33 percent of all childbirths in twelve months.

Dr. Malambo has since attributed the high prevalence of caesarean section births in Ikelenge District to anatomy which is the short stature of the women in that region as well as teenage pregnancies.

This came to light during new North-Western Provincial Health Director Dr. Luckson Chidikita’s familiarization tour of the Heath facilities in the Province.

We monitored ZANIS.
