The Road Development Agency (RDA) in partnership with the Zambia National Service (ZNS) has been undertaking holding maintenance on the 92 kilometres Kazungula-Sesheke Road which covers Southern and Western Provinces.
The works whose progress currently stands at 80 % commenced in June 2023 and involves ripping of surfacing and base on selected sections and reconstruction to gravel standard, ripping of surfacing and base and reconstruction to cement stabilised base of the 10 kilometres section, pothole patching and edge repair.
The works which are ongoing from Kazungula side towards Sesheke are expected to be completed in two months time and are targeted at making the road motorable by improving the riding surface and preventing the road from further deterioration.
