UKRANIAN MILITARY UNLOCKS BILATERAL TIES WITH AIR FORCE

Ukraine Defence attaché (DA) accredited to the Republic of Zambia, Colonel Col Oleh Kvasuik paid a courtesy call on Zambia Air Force (ZAF) Commander, Lt Gen Colin Barry at the Air Force Headquarters, Tuesday, 19 December 2023.

 

In his welcoming remarks, Lt Gen Barry expressed gratitude to Col Kvasuik for the visit. He noted the importance of the diplomatic relationship between the Ukrainian Defence Forces and Zambia Air Force.

 

The Air Force Commander said peace and security remain priorities of the Zambian government, the region, the continent and the world as a whole. The Air Force Commander also appreciated the role of the attaché in strengthening defence ties and fostering cooperation.

 

The ZAF Commander took the time to acknowledge the global challenges and emerging trends impacting military collaboration worldwide such as geopolitical tensions, climate change, and humanitarian crises arising from conflicts.

 

And the visiting Defence Attaché Col Kvasuik said he was pleased to visit Zambia and the Air Force in particular. He pledged his commitment to furthering discussions on strengthening military ties between the two countries.

 

He described the reception at Air Force Headquarters as warm and professzafculminated into open and positive interactions.
