PRESIDENT HICHILEMA IS DRIVING GOOD AGENDA OF EMPOWERING PEOPLE WITH SKILLS – DANTE

The United Party for National Development (UPND) Media Director, Ruth Dante, says President Hakainde Hichilema is driving a positive agenda of empowering women and youths through skills training.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony at Cake Market College in Woodlands this afternoon, Ms. Dante emphasized that skills training can empower more Zambians, especially women, to become self-sustainable.

“Skills training equips students with the necessary skills to become financially independent,” she added.

Commenting on the Constituency Development Funds (CDF), Ms. Dante highlighted that this empowerment offers an essential opportunity for youths and women who didn’t have the chance to excel in their education.

While addressing the issue of female empowerment, the Director noted that women are a powerful force in reducing poverty in households.

“When you walk through the streets, visit trading areas, shops, and even churches, you will see that women are at the forefront, serving as custodians of life in every household,” she said.

The UPND Media Director stated that empowering women not only fosters gender equality but also stimulates economic growth, enhances social well-being, and builds more resilient and inclusive societies.

Angela Nyirenda, one of the invited guests, also spoke at the event, stating that having a skill enables individuals to stand on their own.

She encouraged graduates to make use of what they have learned and contribute positively to the country’s development.

“My encouragement to all the students is to go out and become financially independent,” she said.

She added that the interest of Cake Market College is to plant a seed for students to become self-sustainable.
