LCC HEIGHTENS CHOLERA PREVENTION RESPONSE IN HIGH-RISK ZONES.

18th December,2023

The Lusaka City Council (LCC) has embarked on a robust cholera response exercise in all hotspot areas across the city.

In a statement today, LCC Public relations Manager Chola Mwamba said the exercise which is being spearheaded by the Local Authority’s Department of Public Health includes the disinfection of markets and bus stations, the distribution of cholerine and the collection of garbage including historical waste.

Ms. Mwamba said the Local Authority is working round the clock to ensure that the further spread of the cholera in hotspot areas of Kanyama, Chawama, George and Matero compounds are curbed.

Meanwhile, Ms. Mwamba said a team of Public Health Educators have since been dispatched to the affected areas in a bid to engage and educate the masses on prevention measures of cholera and other waterborne diseases.

And Ms Mwamba has encouraged traders to conduct business in designated areas as doing so will play a crucial role in reducing solid waste in the CBD.

  1. This blog is definitely rather handy since I’m at the moment creating an internet floral website – although I am only starting out therefore it’s really fairly small, nothing like this site. Can link to a few of the posts here as they are quite. Thanks much. Zoey Olsen
