President Hakainde Hichilema has called on young people across the country to join hands and accelerate the country’s economy.
He said this when he addressed the Youth on the Copperbelt as he graced this year’s Youth Day celebration under the theme: “TRANSFORMING MINDS FOR ACCELERATED YOUTH DEVELOPMENT.”
The President further urged the youths not to depend on handouts but rather create the future they want.
He advised the Youth to avoid illicit behavior as that would land them into serious problems with the law.
He has since reassured the youth that Government is working effortlessly to address issues of unemployment and job creation in the country.
“We are implementing targeted interventions meant to empower our youths to be self-reliant. While doing this, we must avoid vices such as tantameni which are not sustainable,” He said
He thanked the youth for turning up in large numbers to commemorate this year’s youth day.
