The Lusaka City Council (LCC) has allocated K700,000 for the installation of street lighting along Freedom Way in the Central Business District (CBD).
This significant investment has been made possible through the 2023 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) under the Lusaka Central Constituency.
The project, slated to commence this year, is currently at tender stage, allowing for a transparent and competitive process among contractors.
This process is key in ensuring that the Local Authority selects a competent and reliable contractor to execute the project efficiently.
Once fully installed, the street lights will not only beautify the CBD but also provide enhanced security for businesses and the general public.
Well-lit streets help to deter criminal activities, promoting a safer and more conducive environment for economic growth and social activities.
This investment demonstrates our commitment to creating a safer and more attractive city for our citizens and visitors.
We believe that this project will have a positive impact on the local economy and contribute to the overall development of Lusaka.
The LCC is dedicated to ensuring that the project is executed to the highest standards, meeting the needs of the community and fostering a vibrant business environment.
