Luangwa – 3rd April, 2024
The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has set 2 May, 2024 as the date for the Kaunga Local Government by-election, in Feira Constituency of Luangwa District, Lusaka Province.
District Electoral Officer (DEO), Stephen Malenga, says this follows the resignation of PF Kaunga Ward Councilor, Freddrick Phiri, on 19th February 2024.
Mr. Malenga stated that according to his official resignation letter, the civic leader cited his selection as a civil servant during the recent teacher recruitment as the reason for relinquishing his position.
The DEO explained that the ECZ has since set 11th April, 2024 (09:00 and 15:00) as Nomination Day.
