BuyZed Founder Evans Ng’oma has commended the Government for the continued operation of the Kawambwa tea company through the Industrial Development Corporation.
In a statement this morning, Mr. Ng’oma expressed optimism that move will promote self-reliance through import substitution, enhance food security, create employment opportunities for the surrounding communities.
He further stated that the continued operation of the Kawambwa tea company support poverty reduction initiatives as well as accelerating social infrastructure.
Mr. Ng’oma has since encouraged procurement officers from all Government ministries to consider putting Kawambwa tea on their refreshment menu in order for the objective to be realized.
The BuyZed campaigner also advised privileged households in Zambia to exercise patriotism, each time they wish to buy tea, saying they should first think of buying Kawambwa tea.
“Please let’s help promote our own local tea brand (Kawambwa tea). Let’s buy local, buy Zambian to build Zambia” Mr. Ng’oma said.
