BAROTSE ROYAL ESTABLISHMENT TO FULLY SUPPORT SOCIAL PROTECTION PROGRAMMES

The Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) has pledged to work in close collaboration with Government, and the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services in particular, to promote social security to the vulnerable in society.
 
Barotse Royal Establishment has since thanked government for the numerous social protection programmes under the Ministry, and has called for capacity building of the establishment in order to collectively push the development agenda.
 
The Barotse Royal Establishment, Ngambela Manyando Mukela was speaking today when Community Development and Social Services Minister, Ms. Doreen Mwamba paid a courtesy call on him at his palace.
 
The Minister who is on a developmental tour in Mongu, Western Province to officially launch the wetlands irrigation programme, assured the BRE that government is fully committed to take empowerment to all parts of the country.
 
Ms. Mwamba highlighted the potential successes that the wetland programme envisages to bring to the province and expressed confidence that once the programme succeeds, vulnerability levels in the province will significantly reduce.
