ORGANISATIONS MUST DEVELOP ROBUST AND RESILIENT DIGITAL INFRASTRUCTURE TO EFFECTIVELY ACHIEVE ON GIVEN MANDATES-MUTATI.

Technology and Science Minister, Felix Mutati, has called on organisations to develop robust and resilient digital infrastructure to effectively achieve on given mandates.

Mr. Mutati says government has incentivised digital equipment to encourage more investments in the sector.

He was speaking this morning when he delivered the keynote lecture at the Public Lecture on the Future of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Africa and Pre-Global AI Summit Launch organised in Lusaka.

And Mr. Mutati has applauded the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) for leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance domestic revenue mobilisation.

Speaking at the same event, ZRA Commissioner General, Dingani Banda, said artificial intelligence presents an opportunity for Zambia to increase revenue collection and drive the country’s economic growth.

Mr. Banda said the potential of AI in tax administrations such as ZRA is transformational.

“We expect AI and other technologies to transform how we collect revenue, reform how we serve our taxpayers and enable the expansion of the tax base in Zambia, the Commissioner General said.

ZRA has a dedicated Artificial Intelligence Unit.
