Chililabombwe Municipal Council under public health is conducting an ongoing exercise of disinfecting Schools within the district and so far 17 Schools have been sprayed for Cholera and Covid prevention measures.
Speaking in an interview CMC Director Public Health Dr. Gift Sakanyi stated that the Local Authority has maximized waste collection within the district and commenced disinfection of Schools.
Dr Sakanyi added that concerted efforts from community members are what is needed to further prevention of Cholera outbreak.
The Director further appealed to parents to ensure that they prepare home cooked meals for their children and desist from buying food from unknown sources.
He has since called on proper disposal of waste and for all to avoid creation of illegal dump sites which may be Cholera breeding grounds.
Schools disinfected include Mitondo, Ming’omba, Fitobaula,Fikolongo, Chico, Twafwane, Chililabombwe Combined,Kakoso, Catholic Community, Muleya, Kamenza Secondary School among others.
