2024 CONSTITUENCY DEVELOPMENT FUND COMMITTEE CDFC ELECTIONS SUCCESSIFULY HELD IN CHIENGE DISTRICT.

The Chienge Town Council in Luapula Province has successfully conducted elections for the 2024 Constituency Development Fund Committee CDFC.

According to a press release by Chienge Town Council Public Relations officer Wells Namute Chifunda, reverend Brian Mofu has been elected as the new Chairperson, and Mrs. Rosemary Chishala as the Vice Chairperson taking over from Ms. Idah Chomba and Elizabeth Mwila respectively.

Mr. Chifunda stated that the elections took place at the Council Chambers, and the newly elected have assumed their duties with immediate effect.

He explained that the CDFC Committee, which includes the Chienge Member of Parliament Honorable Given Katuta, embarked on a site visit and visited two Community Primary Schools: Nakwisa and Mulolwa Community Schools which were constructed under the Constituency Development Fund CDF.

And Mr. Chifunda noted that the Nakwisa Community Primary School was constructed using the 2022 CDF funding at the cost of K776, 000 while the Mulolwa community Primary School was constructed under the 2023 CDF funding at a cost of K832, 000.

He said the package for both schools comes with with new ablution blocks for the pupils and a water borehole.

Mr. Chifunda further stated that during the visit, Ms. Katuta and the CDFC members interacted with pupils and teachers.

He noted that observing that some students were sitting on the floor in classrooms due to a lack of desks, Hon. Katuta assured the pupils and the teachers that the desks, which have already been purchased, will be delivered to the schools soon.
