Lusaka, Tuesday (January 16, 2024)
SOCIALIST Party (SP) president Dr Fred M’membe has described the shooting incident involving former Information Minister Lt Gen Ronnie Shikapwasha Rtd and the news of his death as shocking.
Dr. M’membe has since sent a message of condolences to the bereaved family.
“It was with deep shock and sorrow that this morning we woke up to learn of his death,” Dr M’membe said.
In a statement issued by Socialist Party media director Brian Hapunda, Dr. M’membe said although there is probably no better way to die, it is very sad for a Lt Gen Shikapwasha’s life to have ended in the manner it had.
“I and the entire leadership of the Socialist Party mourn the unfortunate death of Lt Gen Shikapwasha. On behalf of the Socialist Party and on my own behalf, I wish to convey my heartfelt condolence to the family, relatives, friends, and comrades of the late Lt Gen Shikapwasha Rtd,” Dr M’membe said.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
