A 32-year-old man of Samfya District in Luapula Province was killed by a Crocodile while he was fishing on Lake Bangweulu.
In a statement today, Police deputy public relations officer Danny Mwale said the victim was identified by his relatives as Kabanshi Mwape of Nkoya village in Chisuku area.
Mr. Mwale said according to Police officers who rushed to the scene, the victim went fishing alone on Lake Bangweulu using a canoe on March 15, 2024 around 18:00 hours and whilst on the Lake, a crocodile caught hold of him and killed him in the water.
Mr. Mwale noted a search was conducted by his relatives and other members of the community who managed to retrieve the body, which was cut in two pieces, today, around 08:00 hours.
