Chililabombwe Municipal Council yesterday on 7th February 2024 held an interactive meeting with all Councillors to sensitize them on the process of Ward Development Committee formation ahead of the elections.
Speaking during the meeting His Worship the Mayor Mr.Lucky Sichone said all Civic leaders will cooperate in order for the electoral process to yield postive results.
And CMC Town Clerk Mrs Shilla Songolo said this electoral process was important in realising the bottom up approach for the Decentralization policy.
She added that WDCs need to be utilized as they contribute to a number of projects such as grass cutting, revenue collection and CDF projects worked on in each ward.
And Councillors present called on the need for the elected WDCs to deliver according to their mandate for development to be realized in the district.
Meanwhile Director Development Planning Mr Marlon Chisala added that all elected WDCs should ensure that they work hard as under-performing ones will be reprimanded.
