Be informed that Chikankata Traffic has recorded a FATAL INJURIES ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENT (RTA) which occured on the 09/01/24 at around 16 :00hrs along Great North Road at ching’ang’auka area between Kafue and chikankata Boma.
Involved was M/ROBSON MWANZA aged 31 of HNO. 937 Matero compound Lusaka who was driving a motor vehicles namely SINO truck bearing registration number CAA 6530zm towing trailer bearing registration number CAA 6619zm which was being driven from South to Northern direction and the truck was extensively damaged after the impact.
Also involved were four (04) passengers on board on board of the Truck thus two(02) female juvenile and two female adults who have been identified as :- (1) F/Precious Siyambali aged 8 year and ,(2) F/ Chileleko Siyambali aged 6 years both of Jack Compound Lusaka sustained slight injuries whilst (3)F/Esther Mukuku aged 27years also of Jack Compound complained of general body pains and (4) F/ Siyakwembo Loshina aged 20 years of the same compound who complained of painful right leg and all were passengers in the truck and they have been rushed to Kafue District Hospital where they are receiving treatment.
Also involved was a driver only identified as M/COILARD and other names not yet known who was driving a TOYOTA WISH bearing registration number AKB 4019 which was driving from North to South and the motor vehicle was extensively damaged due to the impact and the driver sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot.
Also involved were unknown five passengers five(05) on board of the Toyota Wish motor vehicle which are as follows :-Two (02)male adults, one(01)male juvenile aged about 1 year, and Two(02) female adults all of unknown addresses who sustained multiple bead and body injuries and died on the spot.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited in Mazabuka General Hospital Mortuary awaiting for identification and postmotern.
The accident happened when the driver of the SINO truck failed to keep to his near side lane hence collided head-on with the Toyota Wish which was driving in it’s lane.
Causation code 5A refers.
NB:-The driver of the truck has been detained in Police custody awaiting to be formally charged.
