ZAMBIA ARMY TO TAP INTO LEARNERS INNOVATIONS

The Ministry Education, through the directorate of National Science Centre, has intensified collaborations with other line ministries which led to the recent signing of a Memoranda of Understanding with the Zambia Army.

In the MoU with the Zambia Army, the Military will collaborate in research and product improvement.

Speaking at the just ended JETS fair,Brigadier General Emmanuel Choonya , Director General Research and Development in the Zambia Army said the Army has decided to collaborate with the Ministry of Education to enhance innovations of learners.

He said the Zambia Army wants to tap into the innovations by learners and other participants and see how best to bring it on bound and enhance national security.

“As you have been able to see most of the innovations on display have potential to develop the country in various areas and as Zambia Army we want to be part of the many advancements taking place in the world and one way of doing so is being involved in events such as JETS.” Brigadier General Choonya said.

Meanwhile Patents and Companies Registration Agency, (PACRA) Deputy Registrar, Interlectual Property, Chewe Chilufya said his agency is ready to support innovations displayed during the 56th JETS fair.

And Educationalist Hillary Chipango said the innovations and the partnership that have been associated with JETS will yield positive results.
