The Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Hon. Nelly Butete Kashumba Mutti, SC, MP, FAPRA, today visited Petauke Central Independent Member of Parliament Hon. Mr. Emmanuel Jay Banda at the Maina Soko Hospital where he is hospitalized.
Speaker Nelly Mutti, yesterday informed the House that she would visit Hon. Emmanuel Jay Banda in order to see how he is recuperating and also to get first-hand information about his medical condition.
Madam Speaker who arrived at Maina Soko Hospital at 11:40 hours, was accompanied by the Honourable Deputy Chief Whip, Mr. Gregory Ngowani, MP, and staff from National Assembly of Zambia.
Madam Speaker was received by Maina Soko Hospital Commandant Brig. General Dr. Levy Muchemwa and other senior hospital staff.
Madam Speaker who wished Hon. Banda a quick recovery, encouraged his sister and other family members on his bed side to focus on his recovery.
Speaker Mutti urged the family to cooperate with the medical professionals so that the Member of Parliament can recover quickly and get back to representing the people of Petauke Central in the National Assembly.
Madam Speaker and her delegation prayed with the family before she departed the Hospital.
