Chililabombwe Municipal Council has procured a Tractor Loader Backhoe (TLB) at the cost of 2.3 million using the Constituency Development Funds (CDF).
Commissioning the equipment, Chililabombwe area Member of Parliament Hon. Paul C. Kabuswe said he expects prudent utilization of all CDF equipments including the newly procured one.
The area MP congratulated the Local Authority and the CDF committee for the achievement.
The Minister further called on the Local authority to work on feeder roads as well as continue with the cash for work program on a rotational basis until the drought problem is mitigated.
Earlier, Chililabombwe Town Clerk Mrs Shilla Songolo reiterated that the procured TLB will be used to work on drainages and various road works .
Mrs Songolo expressed gratitude to government and mentioned that aside CDF the Council has received support through cash for work program in the district.
She added that last month there were about 443 beneficiaries under the cash for work program.
“This month we have received a disbursement of 1.3 million under this program and 1800 locals will stem as beneficiaries,” she said.
Present during the handover ceremony was His Worship the Mayor Mr. Lucky Sichone , Chililabombwe DC Ms. Precious Njekwa , Councillors, CDF committee and Council Management and staff and community members.
