A BLOCK MIXING MACHINE CRUSHES A 28-YEAR-OLD MAN TO DEATH IN LUSAKA WHEN ELECTRICITY SUPPLY WAS RESTORED WHILE HE WAS CLEANING.

A 28-year-old man of Foxdale, Kasisi in Lusaka has been crushed inside a Block Mixing machine he was cleaning.

In a statement today, Deputy Police Public Relations Officer Danny Mwale said the incident happened on July 15, 2024 around 10:30 hours at Seybor Block Making Factory in Meanwood Kwamwena area.

He said Police preliminary investigations revealed that Movin Tembo, who worked as a general worker at the factory, was inside the Block Mixing machine at a time when there was no power supply.

And Mr. Mwale explained that it is alleged that the fatal incident occurred when electricity supply was restored while the victim was inside resulting in him being crushed.

Mr. Mwale noted that Movin Tembo’s remains were retrieved from the machine by Police and Fire Brigade officers. They are in the University Teaching Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.

The Deputy Police Public Relations Officer said the Police have since opened an inquiry file.
