MULENGA SLAMS COUNCILS UNDER UTILISING CDF.

4th January 2024

Governance and Development Advocates Zambia Executive Director Elias Mulenga has observed that some Councils have not performed well in their utilisation of Constituency Development Funds -CDF.

Mr. Mulenga said the development made the Country record a high cost of living in the year end of 2023.

He said Councils should be at the centre stage of things in supporting Government’s efforts in improving the living standards.

Mr. Mulenga called on Council administrators and councillors to ensure that distribution of CDF projects is given to the locals within the Districts.

He also said Councils must ensure that quality service delivery tops the purpose of development.

Mr Mulenga commended Government for increasing CDF with the supplementary budget.

He said this will make money to be in circulation and the demand for the dollar will come down which will reduce the inflation rates by the end of January 2024.
