Nkoloma Stadium has always been a tough hunting ground for Malembe for the last 15 years with no victory recorded and yesterday was no different.

Malembe suffered a 2-0 loss to Red Arrows away in Lusaka in Week 20 MTN Super League encounter.

The match started on a good note with both teams failing to break the deadlock in the first half .

It was in the early minutes of the second half that striker Ricky Banda put the home team in the lead.

Banda placed a shot at the far post with Daniel Mutshinemu stretching to full capacity but he was just a second too late to deny Arrows the opener.

Malembe made four substitutions in a bid to try and get back into the game with Moro Amenu, Moyela Libamba, Monday Bwalya and Robson Phiri replacing Lazarous Chishimba, Eric Chomba, Quadri Kola and Benson Kolala respectively.

The closest Forest came to restoring parity was on 70 minutes but Dieugo Apananeโ€™s curling free kick missed the target by a whisker.

On the other end, Edward Mwenya extended Arrowsโ€™ lead on 81 minute after tapping in from the line after Mutshinemu had parried a Yusuf Saddam shot in his way.

Coach Mwenya Chipepo was left disappointed after his team recorded the second loss under him.

โ€œI am very disappointed, last week we drew at home and today we were expecting a win but we are disappointed and we can not be dropping points like this,โ€ he said.

Chipepo said bad officiating contributed to Forest dropping points against Arrows and his technical bench will work towards psyching the players on how to overcome such during matches.

โ€œWe need to work on the mind of our players, we need to psyche them so that if something happens they must remain strong and work hard as a unit. We also need to reinforce in some areas so that when we come back after the breakโ€ฆ๐™„ ๐™™๐™ค ๐™ฃ๐™ค๐™ฉ ๐™ก๐™ž๐™ ๐™š ๐™ก๐™ค๐™จ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ, ๐™ก๐™ค๐™จ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™ฉ๐™ฌ๐™ค ๐™œ๐™–๐™ข๐™š๐™จ ๐™ž๐™ฃ ๐™จ๐™š๐™ซ๐™š๐™ฃ ๐™ข๐™–๐™ฉ๐™˜๐™๐™š๐™จ ๐™ž๐™จ ๐™ฃ๐™ค๐™ฉ ๐™œ๐™ค๐™ค๐™™ ๐™ฉ๐™ค ๐™ข๐™š ,โ€ he said.

Chipepo said Malembe will use the break to reinforce their squad and prepare for the remaining 14 games in the 2023/24 season.
