The Water Resources Management Authority (WARMA) has heightened its awareness campaigns, targeting various stakeholders, including communities residing or conducting activities along riverbanks and catchment areas.

The Authority is currently in Senanga District of Western Province, engaging farmers and communities along the Zambezi River on the benefits of protecting and preserving water resources.

Farmers and residents are being educated on the negative impacts of riverbank cultivation, sand mining, deforestation, and pollution of water resources.

Communities are also being encouraged to join forces with WARMA to protect water resources for their own benefit and that of the entire country.

WARMA has continued to build the capacity of Agricultural Extension Officers and other district officials, with the latest training being held in Senanga District to enhance their effectiveness in working with farmers in their respective localities.

The Authority is utilizing community meetings, local radio stations and engagements with public officials to reach out targeted communities.
