Construction works of an Ablution block with flushable toilets at Mumuni Primary School have commenced.

The project which is being implemented under the 2022 Constituency Development Fund- CDF under the capital project is being constructed at total cost of k880,000.

Speaking at the event, Lusaka Central Member of Parliament, Hon. Mulambo Haimbe this project is in line with the presidential directive to ensure that all public facilities have improved sanitary conditions which include flushable toilets and running water round the clock.

Hon. Haimbe said once completed, the facility with provide learners with the decency of using facilities that are up to standard and befitting of our children in Lusaka Central Constituency.

He said this will in turn help curb health risks such as waterborne diseases that can be quite detrimental to the wellbeing of our learners if left unchecked.

Meanwhile, the MP also announced that in addition to the ablution block, Mumuni primary school will also receive 250 desks from the 4500 desks that have been procured for distribution to schools across constituencies.

The honourable added that despite the economic and social dynamics in Lusaka Central Constituency, his wish is to see an equitable distribution when it comes to basic needs such as running water and improved sanitary conditions.

He therefore called on all well meaning citizens, the cooperate world and various stakeholders to come to the table and have the much needed discussion because it must be a concerted effort approach.

Hon. Haimbe urged the end users of various facilities that are being put up including this ablution block to use and guard them jealously.
